I thought it was just me ,but found out that a couple of [Core] peeps have the same trouble ,since upgrading to Windows 7 and at the same time I installed a new X-Fi Audio card .

I load the game up and the audio is really low and i have to click on the audio settings in UT2004 settings to get normal volume . I quit game and restart and same thing happens .

Now I have been putting up with this ,meaning to investigate when I have time and guess what ,I just had time  .

Go to Windows Control Panel -- "sound" settings ,click communications tab and choose "do nothing" click ok or apply = fixed

What I have noticed is, when I am playing music through Winamp in the background and play a game which has a lot of ambient sounds or loud game sound, the music automatically gets lowered in volume. Maybe it's just me thinking that, but I find it quite helpful. I guess otherwise you would just hear massive noise but no proper music/game sounds.
